Introduction
Fish cultivation, also known as fish farming or pisciculture, is the commercial breeding of fish in artificial enclosures. It is a type of aquaculture, which is the controlled cultivation of aquatic animals.
Fill in the Blanks
The most likely fill in the blanks question asked in HSC Board Examination. Students must recite all the following to get maximum marks in the examination.
- In Japan, cages are used for culture of yellow tail fish, known as Salmon.
- Turbidity is the physical property of water.
- Daily dose of artificial food should be related to the weight of the spawn stalk.
- Water retentive type of soil is preferable for fish farm cultivation.
- Plankton acts as natural food for fishes.
- At selected ponds site, the pH of soil should be alkaline.
- Predatory fishes should not be cultured with major carp.
