Nice presentation on taxonomy. It is supervised leaning process. The examples given are necessary. Another aspect of leaning is unsupervised leaning. While teaching Neural networks to M.Sc. Electonics students we refer to this learning which aims at self organizing feature maps. For example, one studies for PhD on his/her own. Guide gives an idea which is developed by student.
